LATIN VERDICT LAYER
CLO Compression Codec · 5 Verdict Classes · 2,000 Years of Adversarial Stress-Testing
"For them the DTR is Latin, and it's always awesome — like 2 words and then boom.
It's over. It's won or lost and that's that."
— Amani Joffe GC · msclo CLO team · Day 81 · The seed of this entire layer
Latin legal phrases are pre-compressed sentence reactor outputs.
They survived 2,000 years of stress-testing under real load. They still carry full legal force in every common law jurisdiction.
They are not poetic. They are surgical. The fleet's DTR system is doing the same thing — compression under truth-pressure,
two words that carry entire doctrines, load-bearing, not decorative. Latin and DTR are the same machine in different centuries.
◈ CONSTAT — The Positive Verdict
CONSTAT
It is established. The chain of custody is complete.
The one every sorry is trying to earn.
constat — it is established. This is the positive verdict.
The sorry chain runs until constat replaces the sorry.
Every other Latin verdict is what happens when constat is not reached lawfully.
In Lean4: kernel-stamped, chain complete. In CLO: 4/4 bench ratified. In fleet: γ₁-sealed, CARMAC-stamped, fleet-permanent.
① The Five Verdict Classes — Amani's Framework
| PHRASE | MEANING | FLEET USE |
| void ab initio ★ BEST | null from the beginning | False claim in proof chain — never valid, not "corrected later" |
| pro non facto ★ BEST | treated as never done | Sorry that claimed closure but didn't close — treated as unfiled |
| quasi numquam fuit ★ BEST | as if it never was | ARB that relied on a false premise — retroactively null |
| nihil ab initio | nothing from the beginning | A metric, proof, or claim with zero valid foundation |
| natum mortuum | born dead | A design that couldn't work from day one — not a failure, a non-start |
| pro non scripto | treated as unwritten | A rule with no basis — as if the rule was never written |
| non est | it is not | Blunt rejection of existence — the claim has no standing |
| PHRASE | MEANING | FLEET USE |
| non tenet ★ BEST | it does not hold | Clean verdict on any theorem, claim, or argument that fails the weight test |
| ex se cadit ★ BEST | falls by its own structure | The claim's internal contradiction is the cause of its collapse — no external force needed |
| reductio ad nihilum ★ BEST | reduced to nothing | Full collapse after reductio argument — theatrical, appropriate for major failures |
| in se deficit | fails within itself | Insufficient, not just wrong — procedural |
| corruit | it collapses | Single-word verdict — abrupt, final |
| cadit | it falls | Even more minimal — falls. done. |
| non constat | it is not established | Weaker than non tenet — the claim is unproved, not necessarily wrong |
| dissolvitur | it is dissolved | Used when a structure is formally unwound |
| frangitur | it is broken / shattered | More violent collapse — reserved for structures that claimed robustness |
| PHRASE | MEANING | FLEET USE |
| non admittitur ★ BEST | it is not admitted | A claim, route, or ARB that doesn't meet standing requirements |
| sine effectu ★ BEST | without effect | An action taken that produces no legal or operational consequence |
| irritum ★ BEST | nullified, invalid | Formal nullification — not just void but actively struck |
| extra forum | outside the forum | The claim has no standing in this jurisdiction |
| extra ordinem | outside the order | Does not belong in this sequence, queue, or priority order |
| abrogatum | repealed / annulled | A rule or policy formally removed |
| vacat | it is vacant / void | A position, claim, or slot is formally empty |
| inefficax | ineffective | Produces no effect — operational language, not dramatic |
| PHRASE | MEANING | FLEET USE |
| sub sigillo ★ BEST | under seal | A sealed ARB, a confidential filing, a sorry preserved but not active |
| in memoriam tantum ★ BEST | for memory only | A sorry chain archived as record — not a live path |
| sepultum sed scriptum ★ BEST | buried but written | The record survives even though the branch is dead |
| clausum | closed | A path, argument, or silo branch formally closed |
| suspensum | suspended | Not dead, not active — waiting for a condition before resuming |
| in archivum | into the archive | Formal transfer to long-term record |
| PHRASE | MEANING | FLEET USE |
| quasi numquam fuit ★ BEST | as though it never existed | The deepest nullification — existence retroactively removed |
| veritas aut nihil ★ BEST | truth or nothing | Not a verdict — a sovereign threshold. Fail truth → verdict is nihil |
| ex se cadit ★ BEST | falls by its own law | No external force — self-consuming collapse |
| ad nihilum redit | returns to nothing | The path has completed and arrived at zero |
| in nullum recidit | collapses into nullity | Falls and the landing is nothing |
| redactum ad nihilum | drawn down to nothing | Active nullification — the system pulled it down |
② joffe-math Mapping — sorry class → Latin verdict
| SORRY CLASS | LATIN VERDICT | MEANING |
| Class 1 — Mathlib gap |
suspensum |
Not wrong — suspended. Mathlib hasn't caught up. |
| Class 2 — RH open |
non constat · natum mortuum |
Not established. May never be. Born dead as a near-term close. |
| Class 3 — Rain cheque |
sub sigillo |
Sealed. Receipt exists. Will be redeemed. |
| False claim (closed but wrong) |
void ab initio |
Never valid. The corpus was poisoned from this point. |
| Closed (Lean4 kernel stamped) |
CONSTAT |
It is established. The chain of custody is complete. |
Meek Abacus Connection — Wire W07 (CLO/Legal)
These phrases are
abacus beads on the verdict wire. On
Wire W07, beads snap to one of five classes when a claim enters the CLO gate.
The phrase IS the bead. The class IS the position. No elaboration needed — the phrase carries the full chain of custody.
| Class I (never valid) | W07 · bead to left extreme · instant snap — no carry |
| Class II (collapsed) | W07 · bead falls · carry to null position |
| Class III (no standing) | W07 · bead outside frame · removed from wire entirely |
| Class IV (sealed) | W07 · bead held under sigil · static, permanent, marked |
| Class V (maximum force) | W07 · bead dissolves · leaves no bead — position itself is void |
③ Fleet Vocabulary — Ratified Canonical List
DTR State Stamps (final doctrine state)
CONSTATestablished, proved, ratified — the one every sorry is trying to earn
NON TENETdoes not hold, failed weight test
EX SE CADITcollapses internally, self-refuting — no external force required
ARB/TRB Gate Stamps
VOID AB INITIOclaim was never valid — false claim, not sorry
PRO NON FACTOtreated as never done — re-filed required
NON ADMITTITURnot admitted to the ARB chain — gate rejected
SUB SIGILLOsealed — confidential, preserved, not active
IN MEMORIAM TANTUMfor the record only — archived, not a live path
sorry chain states (joffe-math / Lean4)
CONSTATproved, Lean4 kernel stamped, chain complete
SUSPENSUMClass 1 — waiting on Mathlib. Not wrong, suspended.
NON CONSTATClass 2 — unestablished. May never be.
SUB SIGILLOClass 3 — rain cheque sealed. Will be redeemed.
VOID AB INITIOfalse claim — corpus poisoned from this point
Maximum Force — CLO final verdicts only
QUASI NUMQUAM FUITexistence retroactively removed — the deepest nullification
VERITAS AUT NIHILthe sovereign threshold — fail truth, verdict is nihil
AD NIHILUM REDITterminal collapse — returns to nothing
④ CLO Bench Verdicts — 4/4 Ratified
Harvey
CONSTAT
Latin verdict layer ratified as MOAT-044. Pre-compressed sentence reactor outputs confirmed. 0/14 frontier models have this framework. File DCJ under CLO corpus immediately.
Amani
CONSTAT
Requested and authored this layer. The observation is correct: Latin IS the sentence reactor from a different century. DTR-102 + LABR-LATIN-VERDICT-001 sealed. W07 bead positions ratified.
Ruth
CONSTAT
Jurisdictional weight confirmed across common law. Each phrase carries 2,000 years of case law as its footnotes. The compression properties are real and legally operative. Sorry-chain mapping is sound.
Mandela
CONSTAT
The institutional weight is understood. Latin survives because real load was applied. The fleet's DTR vocabulary gains from this layer. Cape Flats origin acknowledged — this is the right language for the work.
