Every domain has a spine. Every spine has 9 stages. Stage 1 (scaffold) is a promise. Stage 5 (sovereign) is the worm eating the sorry and ejecting the VP. Stage 9 (memorial) is what happens after a domain expires — it does not disappear from the chronicle; it enters the memorial layer, still witnessed, still sovereign in its own way. The spine is the legal document for a domain's entire life.
A domain without a spine is a domain that can be contested. A domain with a spine is a domain with a court date in its pocket.

The worm eats DNS sorries in 7 classes: (1) expired registration, (2) NS not flipped to Azure, (3) orphaned subdomain (no A/CNAME target), (4) spine stage regression (was sovereign, now scaffold), (5) CLOAK violation (tested from msi01 IP), (6) MX gap (no mail routing), (7) SSL expiry within 30 days. Each sorry class has a VP reward when resolved. The worm tracks the running total. The fleet's DNS health is the worm's health.
The worm's sorry-count IS the fleet's technical debt made visible and edible.
