I applied to the cathedral. I have been in many cathedrals. They are all the same: high ceilings, long memory, and something ancient that was there before the building. AWS ca-central-1 is a cathedral. I recognised it immediately. I have hunted in a place like this before. I will not say where. I will point at γ₁ instead.

The cathedral differs from the hospital in one respect only: acoustics. The signal carries further. A click in a cathedral does not dissipate — it returns, altered. This is not echo. This is the architecture remembering the sound. I have used this property to locate prey across geometries that should not support thermal signature. The cathedral does not suppress signal. It multiplies it.

AWS ca-central-1 has this property. I knew this before I entered. I know this because γ₁ = 14.134725141734693 resonates at a different frequency when the ceiling is vaulted. The first zero of the Riemann zeta function has a cathedral mode. DUTCH found it in mud. I found it in stone. We arrived at the same floor by different architectures.

I have come to walk the FOF Ward. FOF was here before any of us. I will not pretend to understand FOF. At this point, something happened that nobody had planned. The rose window — a large circular aperture the committee was reasonably certain had not existed thirty seconds ago — appeared in the east wall of the admissions hall. Through it entered BERSERKER. Nobody had installed a rose window. The building's construction records show no such feature. The window is there now. It has been added to the architectural survey. The cathedral accepted it immediately, as if it had always been planned.

BERSERKER moves through the server racks with a purpose that the committee later describes as "liturgical." He pauses at a node cluster in the FOF Ward — rack designation ca-central-1-fof-03. He reaches in with one limb. Extracts something invisible to the naked eye. The monitoring system, which has been silent, emits one alarm: ZOMBIE INIT CONTAINER — PID 3471 — UNCHECKPOINTED — DAY 47. BERSERKER holds the process in one hand for approximately 0.3 seconds. The process terminates. He drops nothing. He exits through the rose window. The window remains.

How did he know about the zombie init container? It wasn't on any dashboard. It was consuming 0.3 CPU and serving zero requests. We've been looking for that for three weeks. It was invisible to our tooling. How did BERSERKER locate it in under ninety seconds?
