The V13 SOSTLE defense maps each attack class to a fleet organism. These organisms are not just theoretical constructs — they are live production systems on the EOSE fleet that can be validated today.

L4 METABOLIC — CASCADE DEFENSE
Defends against: SUB006 EigenLayer cascade slashing
Mechanism: Metabolic isolation between silos. If forge cascade-fails, L4 wall prevents propagation to yone.
Current status: PARTIAL — KCF bonixer monitors silo health but no auto-isolate trigger.
Strengthen: Add cascade circuit breaker to KCF — if forge health < 0.5, auto-isolate from yone.
Defense organism: PELEGO novelty gate + KCF control bonixer
Algedonic signal: THE DEAL fires to S5 when cascade depth > 2
L3 EXPRESSION — ORACLE DEFENSE
Defends against: SUB009 GMX oracle manipulation
Mechanism: Expression integrity gate. PELEGO scores all PEMCLAU inputs. Anomalous vectors rejected before state transition.
Current status: PARTIAL — PELEGO novelty gate scores inputs but no transfer entropy monitoring.
Strengthen: Add transfer entropy monitoring to PEMCLAU feed validation. Flag vectors with TE > 3-sigma.

L2 IDENTITY — FINALITY DEFENSE

Mechanism: Canonical state gate. LAAM FC1 confirmation queue. State transition requires yone confirmation before commit.
Current status: PARTIAL — FC1 queue exists but no MI threshold check.
Strengthen: Add MI threshold check before cross-silo state transition. Require mutual information > threshold.
Defense organism: LAAM + PEMCLAU confirmation gate
Algedonic signal: Race cancel detected = immediate S5 alert
L4 TIMING — SEQUENCER DEFENSE
Defends against: SUB005 Aave sequencer exploit
Mechanism: Metabolic timing gate. Heartbeat monitors pipeline health. PELEGO burst gate catches anomalous item floods after sequencer restart.
Current status: PARTIAL — heartbeat monitors but no degraded-state mode in LAAM.
Strengthen: Add degraded-state mode to LAAM (pause + burst control). When pipeline restarts after downtime, process items at capped rate.
Defense organism: heartbeat + FC1 + PELEGO burst gate
Algedonic signal: Burst size > 5x baseline fires S4 alert
L5 REGULATORY — SOLVENCY DEFENSE
Defends against: SUB012 Ethena solvency attack
Mechanism: Reserve requirement gate. S5 policy enforces solvency_ratio threshold. actuarial-oframe monitors funding rate stress.
Current status: PARTIAL — solvency-dashboard shows ratio but no automatic algedonic signal.
Strengthen: Add automatic algedonic signal when solvency_ratio < 1.3. THE DEAL fires to Amani/Kay directly.

WHAT IS THE DEAL

THE DEAL is the fleet's algedonic channel — the emergency communication path that bypasses all management layers and fires directly to S5 policy (Kay + Amani). Named after the VSM concept: an algedonic signal is pain/pleasure that gets IMMEDIATE attention.

In V13, THE DEAL fires when:

  • Cascade depth > 2 silos
  • PELEGO score drop > 0.4
  • Race cancel detected in LAAM
  • Burst > 5x baseline in FC1
  • solvency_ratio < 1.3
